What you See is What you Get (WYSIWYG)
You will receive an "administrator login" which will enable you to access your Sensis WebWorks™ website and allow you to make unlimited changes, as you desire. This is one of the most powerful features of Sensis WebWorks™. You no longer need to pay high prices for "web developers" to update your website, nor do you need to know the HTML programming language. The Sensis WebWorks™ 'WYSIWYG' administration interface allows you to make changes to the content of your site in an intuitive and logical way that is very similar to using a standard word processing package. Some of the pages within the site have a templated (fixed) layout and can only be edited in this way. Other pages, which we refer to as custom pages have a more flexible layout and can either be edited using WYSIWYG or by using HTML programming.
HTML
If you prefer to use HTML programming to build your website, you can choose to edit your content on your custom pages using the HTML editor instead. Using HTML you can build extra functionality into your site that is not available in the WYSIWG interface. If you are unfamiliar with HTML, you might like to enrol in a short course, or teach yourself using an online tutorial or a training manual. There are many websites which list examples of commonly used HTML 'tags', and below is an example of an HTML tag which can be used to create a hyperlink. Hyperlinks can also be created on custom pages by using the WYSIWYG editor.
Hyper Links A Hyperlink is displayed as underlined text and takes the viewer to another page in your Sensis WebWorks™ site, or an external site. The clickable, or 'live' area will be any text located between the TAGS. In this example, we'll create a text link:
Using the HTML code above, you have instructed the browser window to open the www.webworks.com.au web site when the viewer clicks on "this text". Also "this text" will appear underlined and will change colour according to the settings for link colours in the "Design Look & Feel" area.
To create a Hyperlink in your Sensis Webworks™ web site:
- Use your browser to go to the page that you want to link to.
- Select the address that appears in the Address Bar at the top of the browser window and copy it. The address you have selected should look similar to "http://www.webworks.com.au"
- Close this browser window open the Sensis WebWorks™ Administration interface and select the HTML Editor page where you want to include the Hyperlink.
- Type in the TAGS surrounding the text that you want as the link (as shown above) and paste the Address that you copied within the tags.
