Customer Testimonials

A&B Hydroponics

After running for several years, A&B Hydroponics International owner, Joe Agius, and the company’s Marketing Director, Rudi Azzato, decided it was time to establish their own web site.

"We wanted to have our own professional web site so that our customers, and potential customers, could easily learn more about our products and services and contact us via email. It’s just another way for customers to make enquiries which, we hope, will eventually lead to a sale.   "We have already had one sale, which came initially via our Sensis WebWorksweb site, worth more than $650,000," Rudi said.

"For the past couple of years, we’ve been heavily involved in selling our products and services to overseas clients. Our own Sensis WebWorkswebsite allows us to more effectively capture these markets, and is also giving us the opportunity to spread our ideas and expand the business," he said.

"The overseas interest in our business, generated through the Yellow Pages® Business Ideas Grants program in which we were national finalists, demonstrated to us how valuable a web site would be in providing potential customers with instant information about our products and services," Rudi said.

Because the team at A&B Hydroponics International don’t have a strong computer background, Joe and Rudi decided their best option was to employ an external provider to build a web site for their business.

"We looked at various web building options, but decided the Sensis WebWorksproduct was the best fit for us. Working with the team to create the site was a really pleasant and easy experience. In fact, the whole process took place via email. We just chose a design template that best suited us, and then emailed the text and images we wanted to appear on the site to the consultant. We’re very happy with the result," Rudi said.

Rudi believes the website will provide significant cost savings for the business in the longer term.

"In the past, we’ve had to rely on producing expensive videos and brochures to promote our products and services and attract customers. The new website, which contains all this information, has greatly reduced the need for hard copy materials. Customers also retain a sense of excitement about the product when they can view the information immediately. This does not happen with the delay in receiving posted materials," he said.

Exclusive furniture creation

With a new name and expanded services, Exclusive Furniture Creation owners, MariMar and Mario Martinez, were keen to use the internet to relaunch their business. They chose the Sensis WebWorksteam to develop their site.

With more than 14 years experience in restoring furniture in Perth, MariMar and Mario wanted the most up to date medium to market their new name and the inclusion of furniture design and production in their business.

"We have tried a number of different advertising options and haven’t received the response we wanted. As more and more people are now using the internet, we think this is the best way to reach our market," MariMar said.

"We want to have more direct contact with our customers and think that our Sensis WebWorksweb site will offer this. Previously, we have worked through interior designers and antique dealers, we would now like the chance to have our customers deal with us direct. That way, customers will become familiar with our way of working - that we use the best people and materials on all our furniture."

MariMar found the process to develop the Exclusive Furniture Creation site easy.

"Although it took us a long time to decide what information and photos to include, it took less than a week for our consultant to prepare the Sensis WebWorkswebsite and get it online.

"The consultant gave us some great ideas and hints about the site. We made minor changes to the site, and that was it!"

"Our Sensis WebWorkswebsite is very user-friendly. It’s nicely presented and orderly, which makes it easy for customers to find information. It’s good that we’re able to keep it up to date ourselves, and in a few months we plan to use the self-updating feature to include new information about our latest furniture projects," she said.

Mario and MariMar are keen to promote the Sensis WebWorkssite to new and existing customers, and are looking forward to a positive response in enquiries and sales.

"We plan to focus our marketing efforts on the web site for now. It’s good because we can track information about customer use of our Sensis WebWorksweb site, over time. While it’s still new, we expect that more and more customers will use the site to find information about our products and services," MariMar said.

Liquid Limestone

Having started a new business, Liquid Limestone partners, Peter Hayes and Ciaran Doyle, needed a cost effective way of promoting their products and building awareness of their business. They chose a Yellow Pages® OnLine solution and Sensis WebWorks™ website to reach the market for their paving and stone supplies business.

"It was crucial to our success that we could be found by prospective customers. Before starting our Yellow Pages® OnLine solution and Sensis WebWorks™ website, we only used our work vehicles, an advertisement and some letterbox drops to promote our business.

"The turning point for us came when we realised how we could grow our business through a presence online," Peter said.

The response to Liquid Limestone’s Yellow Pages® OnLine solution and Sensis WebWorks™ web site has been immediate, and marked. Peter and Ciaran noticed a significant increase in enquiries almost overnight.

"Within days of our Yellow Pages® OnLine solution and Sensis WebWorks™ web site going live, we started receiving enquiries that have since led to a lot of contracts – contracts that we otherwise would have missed," Ciaran said.

"We are thrilled with the response and already have in excess of $100,000 in sales on the books, which can be attributed to our online presence.

"Many of our customers have told us they saw our web site address on our vehicles and could remember it – but not our phone numbers. So, they used the web site to contact us," he said.

The business’ Yellow Pages® OnLine solution has also boosted interest in the company and its products.

"In addition to the success of the Sensis WebWorks™ web site, we’ve had an overwhelming response to our Yellow Pages® OnLine solution. Many customers have said they have found us through the Yellow Pages® OnLine site. This includes one substantial contract that has more than paid for the investment we made with in our Yellow Pages® OnLine solution and Pacific Accessâ WebWorks website," Peter said.

The ease of putting together the business’ web site was a pleasant surprise for the Liquid Limestone team.

"We are a small company, at the moment, and never thought it would be so easy to get our business online.

"We’re really pleased with our decision to invest in the online solutions offered by Sensis, and grateful to the team involved for making it all come together," Peter said.

Prime Marble Granite

Being visible to all potential markets led Sydney business, Prime Marble & Granite, to adopt online advertising as part of its varied marketing program.

Managing Director, Allan Teo, wanted an internet presence for the business, which offers marble and granite to the domestic and commercial markets, and chose a Sensis WebWorks™ web site and Yellow Pages® OnLine site to do so.

"At the moment, we find that younger customers – people in their 30s – are often the group using the internet to search for information. In future, we expect that more and more people of differing age groups will also use the internet. So, it’s important to our business that we have an online presence," Allan said.

Allan has found that Prime Marble & Granite’s internet presence has enabled the business to seal deals more quickly.

"Customers who come to us after having looked at our Sensis WebWorks™ web site are better informed. It speeds the sale process, as these customers already know who we are, what products we provide and how good we are in this area. When they come to the factory, it’s just a matter of negotiating the price".

The business has already received numerous enquiries, and sales, which can be attributed, in part, to its internet presence.

"Our internet presence is an important part of a broader marketing program for Prime Marble & Granite. Our Sensis WebWorks™ web site and our Yellow Pages® OnLine solution work together as supporting tools to promote our business. They offer differing amounts of written information and photographs which help the customer to decide."

"We appreciate the flexibility of our Sensis WebWorks™ web site. It’s good that our staff can continue to update the web site with photographs and information about our most recent projects. That way customers have an idea of what we’ve worked on and how we’re progressing," he said.
